Hello, fellow readers, fellow writers, and everything in between! Welcome to my Author Newsletter. I am grateful and excited to have you here.
My name is Jasmine Dayton. I cultivated my love for writing at the age of nine when I admirably wrote my first two stories. One about a dog rescuing its owner from a snow storm, and another about a group of friends who tracked down a bandit for the reward money to save one of their grandmothers homes.
When I entered middle school the craving to create stories and worlds grew. I was fortunate to have many friends that were extremely supportive in my endeavors. They often asked me to write different stories ideas they had thought of or to be characters in my stories. By the time I entered High School I had a binder filled with over 30 potential plot lines of books to write.
I joined YouTube around my senior year of high school but would not move over to the Writer community until five years later. This is where I was able to connect to more people like me and learn how to truly write intentionally with structure and craft. Throughout that time I have won The Writing Challenge of Doom run by --- for my short story Surfacing and am now working on two additional science fiction works.
But enough about me. Lets talk about what I am going to do for you in this newsletter.
My hope is that I can gather together writers and readers alike. Every other Sunday I will publish a new post and send that as the crux of the newsletter. I want this to be something that everyone can relate to so week by week the material may be a little different teach time.
To start out my posts will include but will not be limited to
Announcements of my published projects and where to purchase them
Essays on important reading and writing questions
Personal Reviews of my favorite reads both popular and indie based
Analysis on story telling, character building, and developing your craft
Reading Experiments where I dive deeper into the plots of my favorite stories
